Make a homeschool routine you can’t stick to by learning from other homeschool moms who share the routines that work for them!
Do schedules scare you?
Or stress you out?
Or maybe they intrigue you, but they never seem to work?
If you said yes to any of these, you might be a Routine Mama, and what you really need is a routine, NOT a schedule.
NOTE: When I originally published this post, I was doing research for a book I was writing, Home Management for the Homeschool Mom. That book is now published and VERY popular!

Each of the links below share a different perspective when it comes to building a routine for homeschooling and homemaking! There are so many different ways to make this work, so don’t get stuck in a rut and ALWAYS do what works FOR YOU!
But wait!
Before you dive into all of these routines and get lost in someone else’s homeschool schedule, let me help you create YOUR OWN homeschool schedule! One that is easy to stick to and gives you the relaxed homeschooling atmosphere you’ve been looking for!

Each of the routines below were hand-picked by me – a large family homeschooling mom. They are either routines I have personally used, or they appear to be something that would be easy for a Routine Mama to follow.
Always give yourself 1-2 weeks with a new routine to determine if it truly does or does not work for you.
Yes, sometimes it’s easy to tell from the get-go that something isn’t going to work, but every routine has kinks to work out and no two families are alike so all of these will need to be tweaked to fit YOUR family!
OK, now that I’ve given you all the caveats, here are some of my favorite routines!

Thanks Amy. This is really helpful. Our school year in New Zealand started in February and we are still trying to get into a good groove. Even though it’s true that each family is different, it is useful to see how others manage their day. It helps me think outside the box!
Congratulations on your wee blessing. The hope that comes from expecting a new baby in the family is such a wonderful feeling – no matter how many you have.
