Hi Amy, I’m enjoying your podcasts, thank you! I listen directly from the blog and was wondering if there is a way to know beforehand how long the podcast is so I can tell if I have enough time to listen to it without interruptions? 🙂
Amy says
If you click all the way to the end of the bar on the player, it will show you how long it is and then you can start over. That’s the only thing I can think of! lol

Thank you for not spending the first 7-10 minutes talking about nothing. As a super busy mom, I get frustrated when the first 1/4 or more of a podcast is just chatter. Also, you are very engaging while being concise! Definitely going to listen to more!

Aww, thanks, Lea!

The best thing i ever learnt to do was to prepare as much of dinner as possible first thing in the morning. That way we always eat what was planned instead of becoming overwhelmed or too tired by the afternoon. It becomes easy to press on. Setting the washing going as well has helped in the summer but our laundry is off of our sunroom and with it being winter now i just dont much care for going through there! Haha

Thanks for this podcast, Amy! It’s nice to hear your voice after reading your blog for so many years. I agree with all of your points in this podcast too – it’s ALL about getting your key items done in the mornings.
For me, my key items are very similar to yours. An addition that I would add is getting the littles through their little chore sets (dress, teeth, beds, etc.). If I don’t, then suddenly I find that it’s 10 a.m. and the little kids are disheveled and the place is a MESS because I haven’t done the basics with them. So it’s a priority to find them and get them through their routines quickly.
I also listened to another podcast that you did a few weeks back, and while I didn’t take time to comment, I loved it. Especially the part about marshmallow-snatching littles (among other things) – it’s nice to know that I’m not the only one who has to put marshmallows in super-high places!!! 🙂

Agreed! I do find myself reminding the younger kids to get through their list as I’m working through mine!
