As soon as the weather turned cooler, my family started begging for caramel apples and this family favorite dip. Because we have so many littles, I decided to skip the actual caramel apples this year and instead create a Caramel Apple Party with our Peanut Butter Caramel Apple Dip as the feature!
I sent everyone outside (Daddy included) and whipped up a full blown party as a surprise for everyone. I called them all inside and WOW, were they surprised! It was a huge hit! Apple slices and sprinkles were flying, baby was skipping right to the chocolate and marshmallows, and my children declared this the best Caramel Apple Party ever!
Here’s a quick list of what we had at our Caramel Apple Party and my famous Peanut Butter Caramel Apple Dip recipe:
1 bag of apples (we like green Granny Smith apples), sliced
Mini-marshmallows
Chocolate chips (we’re partial to milk chocolate)
A variety of sprinkles
Peanut Butter Caramel Apple Dip
{by the way, the pottery I served these on is a Franciscan pottery called October. My mom and mother in law purchased this set for me at a garage sale after I saw it there and fell in love with it.}
Peanut Butter Caramel Apple Dip
8oz cream cheese, softened
1 c brown sugar
1 c pb
1/4 c milk
Beat together all ingredients in a bowl and serve with fresh apple slices!
Time to hit the grocery store and have your own Caramel Apple Party tonight!

So, then, there really isn’t any caramel in the peanut butter caramel dip? It’s just the brown sugar gives it the caramel flavor? I just want to be sure I didn’t miss something. 🙂
Amy says
Yes, just the brown sugar 🙂

I made this for my parties in Lincoln for my college-aged friends, and it was always a hit! I used chunky peanut butter, and one friend called it Snickers dip.

What fun! Thanks for sharing your dip recipe & the idea for a carmel apple party! I love the idea of using the dip instead of carmel, less messy is allways good! Your dishes are awesome! I have the appleware dishes from the same company that use to belong to my mother in law. Enjoy the Fall season with your family! God bless.

Is it my “mommy brain” or is there no carmel in this?! 🙂
Amy says
Right – no caramel as in pre-made sauce or candies, but caramel is essentially just brown sugar and butter. The cream cheese takes the place of the butter. 🙂
