Remember this song?
Well, I’m not walking 500 miles so I can walk 500 more and then fall down at your door, but I am taking on the challenge to walk 500 miles this year!
I keep telling myself I don’t have time to exercise. I make excuses and then feel sorry for myself.
No, I can’t make it to Zumba class 3 nights a week. No, I can’t afford a gym membership and the child care fee I would incur actually using the gym membership. But, I can take baby steps to being a fitter mom, a mom who walks the walk…all 500 miles of it!
My New Year’s Resolution this year is:
to be more careful.
Does that sound weird to you? Well, its something I hope to shed a little more light on throughout the coming year, but suffice it to say, walking is part of the equation of learning to be careful. Being careful means:
to be attentive to potential danger, error, or harm.
In this case, I am attending to my health and the danger, error, and harm of not exercising. I am being careful to lead a life that cares about this temple God resides in.
Will you join me?
No, you don’t have to walk 500 miles, but I would encourage you to quit making excuses for something you know you should do and find a way to do it!
I’ll post my ticker toward the bottom of my sidebar so you can see how far I’ve walked. If you have a post on your own blog telling about a New Year’s Resolution you have for 2011, leave me a link!
