Help your children understand the value of rest with this unique sleep training lamp from Kidstible! Your kids will love the charging battery concept, and you will love the results!
I haven’t slept through the night in 25 years.
Now, I can’t blame it all on the kids, but a bulk majority of those 25 years of sleepless nights has been somehow related to them. Most recently, it’s been my 6 year old.
She has no trouble falling asleep, but staying asleep…and staying in her room…that’s where the struggle is. I don’t know how many times I’ve just begun to drift off to sleep and in she saunters, blankie in hand, asking to make a pallet on the floor with blankets and pillows and stuffed animals. And when she can’t seem to fall back asleep, she serenades herself with John Denver’s “Country Roads.”
And while this is adorable as all get out, there are nights when I seriously need sleep. There are nights when SHE seriously needs sleep. We both need a recharge!
And that’s why the Kidstible Sleep Training Lamp was a perfect choice for our family!

What is the Kidstible Sleep Training Lamp?
The Kidstible Sleep Training Lamp (my kids call it their “Energy Lamp”) is a soft light, shaped like a battery with the visual appearance of a battery charging. As time passes, the battery light “charges” and eventually fills in as “fully charged.”
This is a visual nearly all children born in the digital age recognize and understand! They have grown up knowing when Mommy’s phone needs to be plugged in or when Daddy’s iPad is fully charged and ready for use. They are familiar with a device’s need to recharge, so it isn’t a hard concept to consider themselves in need of a recharge (via sleep or rest) as well!
Why You Need the Kidstible Sleep Training Lamp
I’d like to think none of your kiddos have sleep issues, but I’m pretty sure the odds of that are slim to none! I’m sure you are already intrigued about this lamp and its many uses, but just in case you’re not sure if it’s right for you, here’s a short list of why you might need a Kidstible Sleep Training Lamp…
- You have a child who won’t stay in bed at night.
- You have a child who wakes up super early and wants to wake up everyone else.
- You have a child who really needs their rest, but struggles to settle down.
- You are a mom (or dad) who is worn out and needs to “recharge” as much as your children do!
Unique Features of the Lamp
The best part of the Kidstible Sleep Training Lamp is how unique it is from any other sleep related lamps on the market. A quick search on Amazon will show you all kids of “sleep trainers,” but most of them resemble toys and have a myriad of buttons on them that only entice little fingers to punch and poke and ultimately “adjust” the clock!
And most of these sleep clocks offer little to no customization, leaving you few options on how to use them. With the Kidstible, YOU are in control, and YOU get to use it how you want to! (Don’t forget to check out all the ways you can use this lamp in the Ideas Section!)
I want to share with you some of the many unique features I love about “The Lamp”:
- You can choose Nap Mode (like a timer) or Night Mode (like an alarm).
- You (or your child!) get to choose the color of the lamp’s recharging bars!
- The lamp looks like a battery, NOT a toy, so your child will see it as a tool rather than a plaything.
- There are no buttons on the lamp for your child to push or change settings.
- You can change the settings from your phone! Add time, shorten time, adjust colors, and more!
- Your child doesn’t need to be able to tell time to use the lamp. It’s a battery charging – even toddlers know what that looks like!
- Your kids can see the progress! They don’t need to ask if it is nearly time to get up, and they won’t wonder “how much longer.” It is a tangible, visual representation of what their bodies are doing when they rest.
How to Set Up the Kidstible Sleep Training Lamp
The first thing I noticed about setting up the lamp was how easy the instructions were! Talk about intuitive! The creators literally thought of everything and then made it easy to program just the way you want it! (They did create this for their own children, so it would make sense they would want it easy to use!)
There is an app to download (and yes, it works with Apple AND Android!), and you will need to enable bluetooth.
From there, the app walks you through setting up a name for your lamp (just in case you’d like to get a lamp for ALL of the kids’ rooms! *ahem*)
From there, you simply choose Nap Mode or Night Mode and how long you want the lamp to “charge.”
Once you start the lamp, you will be able to change the colors, adjust the time, and create routines (like a nightly turn on time or a daily nap time).
Ideas for Using the Kidstible Lamp
This sleep trainer has so many possibilities beyond the notion of sleep! Here are just a few of the ideas I managed to brainstorm. Feel free to add your own!
- Obviously, the number one way to use it is overnight as a “sleep trainer.”
- However, my favorite way to use it is for Rest Time. (Check out my book, So Many Littles, So Little Time for more tips on afternoon rest time.
- You can use it as a “Get Ready” clock. Set it so your children will know when it is time to leave for church or piano lessons or Grandma’s house!
- Tooth brushing timer! Don’t stop brushing until the light reaches the top!
- Christmas morning! No more 4am Christmas morning wake-up calls!
- Downtime from devices. If you need help keeping your kids off devices, set the lamp, and give them a visual of how they need a break to recharge just like their favorite device needs a recharge periodically.
- Mom needs a recharge! Bible study? Work-at-home time? Uninterrupted bathroom break? Long, luxurious bath? Whatever it is you need to recharge, set the lamp, put it outside your (shut) door, and just try and resist the temptation to add time to it from the bathtub!
There are so many great uses for the Kidstible Sleep Training Lamp, I know it would be a great tool in your home!
By the way, it has been my 8 year who has enjoyed having this lamp the most! She changes the color every few nights, and tells me that sometimes she wakes up and sees it isn’t ready yet, so she goes back to sleep. And yes, the 6 year old is staying in her bed now (most of the time)!
Definitely head to Amazon and buy your own Kidstible Sleep Training Lamp (or maybe 2 or 3!), and start recharging tonight! (Use any of the links above to get 10% off through the month of August 2023!)

We adopted a little boy last year and unbeknownst to us at the time he has a genetic condition that causes a reversal of melatonin. He is night blind. We are working with different medication but wow! Sleeplessness is a journey of faith, for sure!

Oh wow! I’ve never heard of that!
