Sweet & Creamy Green Beans

Ingredients

  • ½ onion (or 2 Tbsp minced onion)
  • 3 Tbsp butter, divided
  • 4 cans green beans, drained (I prefer French style)
  • 6 strips cooked bacon (or 2 Tbsp real bacon bits)
  • salt & pepper (to taste)
  • 5 Tbsp sugar
  • 3 tsp vinegar
  • ¾ cup mayonnaise

Instructions

  • In a medium saucepan, melt 1 Tbsp of the butter and saute' onion on medium heat.
  • Reduce heat, add green beans, bacon, salt, pepper, and the other 2 Tbsp of butter. Heat until warm and butter is melted.
  • Add the vinegar, sugar, and mayonnaise and stir and cook until hot and sugar is dissolved. Serve immediately.
