This podcast was super helpful to me as I ponder how I want to structure our homeschool days this upcoming school year. I have 4 boys age 8 down to 2 and I so appreciate the simple and practical advice.
I particularly appreciate how you don’t get up until 8. I have found for myself that it is so worth giving myself grace in that area. Now my little one is 2, I am able to get up before them, but that has just been in the last month. I think it is so worth getting enough sleep and doing what works for you in the season you are in.

Amy, thank you so much for all of your podcasts. Please keep them coming! I was directed to your blog by another home-school Mom friend back when my oldest ones were becoming of school-age and I have heard you speak at the TTD Convention in Nashville. I am a mother of 6, about to enter our 7th year of teaching my children at home and every time we add a new student to the official roster, it really throws me and I struggle to regain that balance. Every year seems to get more frustrating and I just feel like I can’t possibly take on another thing because I am pulled in so many directions.. Your words are always an encouragement to me though. Today (Saturday) while the kiddos are all off with grandparents and I am catching up on some things around the house, I have listened to nearly all of your podcasts and plan to implement some of your suggestions. I am seeking God’s wisdom on how to still give my kids what is the best for them while at the same time maintaining my sanity!!! I’m thinking I need to begin with streamlining mealtime, and also REALLY leaning toward year-round schooling. We’ll see…

I am really enjoying podcasting, and I am so glad you are enjoying them too! There’s always something new to learn, isn’t there? I am always excited to add a new child to the roster, but like you, it throws me! Have a blessed week!
