Your tip about how field trips are supposed to be fun and don’t have to exactly line up with the curriculum was so helpful to me! I am homeschooling my 2 boys for the first time this year and I’ve been tying myself in knots scheduling relevant field trips at the right moment in the curriculum. We are studying state history for my 9 year old’s 4th grade this year. I was trying to work out how to visit the various places in our state without crisscrossing it multiple times so we didn’t end up visiting Kittyhawk when we were still learning about Blackbeard. It was an interesting logic puzzle in its way, but I’m glad to lay this particular burden down.
