Missionary studies are perfectly suited to be homeschool curriculum. They are ready-made geography, character study, history, and literature. But, a missionary study that already has these components put together for you is difficult to come by. Truth be told, I’ve never found something that was quite what I was looking for.
Until now!
To Every Nation is the newest product from Kim at Not Consumed, and I am happy to wholeheartedly endorse this product as exactly the kind of missionary-based curriculum I’ve been looking for!
There are 3 different ways you can use this curriculum:
1. As a Bible Study only. If you would like to focus your Bible time on missions, this is a great way to do that! You or your child would read the included biography, complete the application page, read the corresponding Scripture, and then journal a response to the verse during their quiet time. (Kim has a FREE Quiet Time Journal for Kids if you subscribe to her blog.
2. As a 12 week Homeschool Unit Study on Missions. There are 12 missionaries in this curriculum, so if you use this as a 12 week unit study, you would learn about one missionary per week by reading the included biography, completing the information page, studying the region they served in, and completing a timeline, application page, and copywork each week.
3. As a Long-term Homeschool Study. Kim includes resources in the curriculum to stretch the study into a semester (and beyond) by adding in videos, books, and other resources to provide a well-rounded study.
So, if you’ve been looking to add in more about missions in your homeschool, this is the perfect way to do that!
What I love about To Every Nation:
*The biographies are included – no need to search the internet for a succinct and interesting biography.
*Sketches and photos of the missionaries are included – I like being able to “see” what these men and women of the faith looked like!
*Easily adaptable for any size of family and any age group – you can’t beat this study for ease of use! It’s all there, neatly laid out, and easy to implement. Thanks, Kim!

Question: are all twelve missionaries White Americans or Europeans? Are there any POC represented? Thanks for your help!
Amy says
All 12 are American or European, so if you are looking for something more diversified, I would look at this FREE curriculum from Ann Dunagan – http://harvestministry.org/twghw (You do have to buy the supplemental resources). It wasn’t as easy to follow, but it may be more what you are looking for.

This looks wonderful! We read about some missionaries when I was using Sonlight but since we stopped using that curriculum, I’ve missed that aspect of our school time. Thanks!

Thank you so much for sharing this resource Amy, it looks like it’d be a great addition to our homeschool days. I just purchased, and I’m looking forward to using it with my children.

About how many pages are devoted to each missionary?
Amy says
Approximately 8 pages per missionary.
