When you spend weeks just wishing you could get a little further down the road past the morning sickness, an amazing thing happens when you are finally having more good days than bad days…you are actually surprised by how far along you are!
The ticker above is one of my favorites because I’m able to show the children about how big the baby is in terms they understand.
What I’ve been doing this week:
*Reading pregnancy journals. This is one of my favorite things to do during pregnancy. I never get tired of reading through these old journals and reminiscing.
*Lovin’ all the pregnancy/new baby announcements from friends on Facebook. And yes, getting a wee bit anxious to be cuddling my own bundle of joy!
*Organizing. The better I feel, the more I feel the need to organize. First it was my spice rack, then it was my homeschool supplies. I have my sights set on the boys’ room next. (and next week you’ll get a taste of a couple of organizing projects I tackled. 😉 )
*Grocery shopping & cooking! I felt good enough to grocery shop and I’ve been back to cooking on a regular basis as well. I still have to be careful what I choose to cook and I can’t let myself get too hungry, but I must say my children are quite appreciative of the more varied fare.
*Trying to figure out how to rearrange my bedroom to accommodate the bassinet. I seem to start thinking about such things about this time frame. I know exactly where I want it, but that means moving my desk and I have no idea where to move my desk to. Going to keep thinking on this one…
*Potty training the 3 year old…again. We had a smallish victory yesterday when he actually told me (of his own volition) that he had to go potty! I praised him profusely and gave him a piece of candy. He grinned from ear to ear and told all his siblings, who then proceeded to all come and tell me they needed to go potty too. Lovely.
Looking forward to a wonderful weekend with my family just staying home and relaxing! Have a blessed weekend as well!

pregnancy can be a little trying at times but it is always a very treasured time. Blessings to you and your family and God help you wee in potty training. What fun it must be for them watching your belly grow.

I love the ticker! Cannot believe your baby is already the size of a lemon. Praying that the rest of your pregnancy is a safe one for you and the baby!

Potty training here too. I’ve been rewarding W (2.5) with two chocolate chips each time I send him to the potty and he’s still dry. So far no one else has tried to use “I’m dry!” as a ploy for chocolate chips, but maybe I should watch out for that! 🙂 ….K

I can relate! We are organizing too. And my 3-year-old potty trained right before his birthday and still sometimes asks for treats for going — so then the 4-year-old (who’s been potty trained for two years) wants one too! Silly kids.
Yay for 14 weeks! 🙂

Potty training the 2 year old here also. He is starting to get it, but only tells me he has to go when we are at the ball park. I hate those porta potties.
Congrats on making 14 weeks and that you are feeling so much better. I really miss those days, but God is in control and I have to accept he has said we are done. I actually had a dream last night that someone left a newborn at our door.
I guess on the bright side the oldest is 13, so grandkids in the next 10 years:)

Oh, it never fails they need to potty at the worst places!

So glad you’re feeling better these days. Do you find these next couple of months will go by quick as you start to get your energy? Of course, then the last couple of weeks drag on forever! I have about 3wks left, and I so wish I was even closer. Oh well, I guess I have to be patient. : )
Amy says
They do seem to speed up until about 35 wks or so. I’m guessing around Christmas I’ll start to get antsy!

I love reading your updates on your pregnancy! I am about 2 weeks ahead of you and have also been in an organizing mood. 🙂 Some days when I wake up I have no energy so on the days I feel good I try to get as much as I can done. Are you wanting to find out if you’re having a boy/girl? I had a sonogram a few weeks ago and found out it is probably a baby boy. I have 2 girls and 1 boy already so this will even everything out. 😀 Glad you are starting to feel better with your pregnancy! Praying everything continues to go well!
Amy says
I had a totally unproductive day today! And we never let the sonographer tells us what the baby is, but we always look for ourselves. 😉

I’m so looking forward to getting to the stage you’re at now. I’m 10 weeks and struggling with the yuck. Got some Zofran and it helps some but I’m still sick.
I just keep thinking about the blessing of nesting and how nice it’ll feel to WANT to clean and straighten and organize!
Plus, our youngest (at this time) is 3 1/2. We’ve never had one reach 3 before being pregnant again. Figured God was done sending them our way, esp once I turned 42 in June. So we are SUPER excited with the new little one coming.
Enjoy your feeling good time!!

When you are through the worst of it, it will seem like a blink of an eye! Congratulations!!

Yay! Congrats! I don’t need to tell you this, but you know how quickly it goes once you start feeling better! And I’m glad to hear we’re not the only ones struggling with potty training a 3 year old, though I think she has a UTI :0( Great update, looking forward to seeing more!! 😀

The potty training comment brought back memories! One of our children, we offered her a piece of chocolate every time she used “the big girl potty.” After the second reward, she also began asking for water. So she could potty more. So she could get more chocolate. This type of logic at the age of two. Glad you are feeling better. I generally take for granted feeling good until I am feeling yucky!

I had not visited your blog in awhile and so was pleasantly surprised to see you are adding another arrow to your quiver. Congratulations.

Thank you!

Love it!
The joys of child rearing.

Reading your updates are so encouraging to me right now. I am 12 weeks along and still feeling pretty miserable. Oh to be 14 weeks! One thing that is crazy for me with this pregnancy (#5) is that I absolutely cannot wait to find out what we are having! I actually spent $37 on a gender prediction test but I still have to wait to find out via ultrasound if it was right!
Amy says
I totally understand. 😉

OH AMY!
Congrats it had been a while since I have read your blog. WOW I’m so excited for you!
I just gave birth to baby Ian Matthew on June 12, 2012 so life here has been crazy (but fun)
I will keep you in my prayers for a safe and healthy pregnancy.
Peace+

I’ve been thinking about you a lot, Georgiann, but hadn’t had the energy to email and check on you. Huge congratulations on a new baby boy! yay!!!!

Amy, I am 12 weeks along with my 3rd, so pretty close to you! I am so happy to be nearing the end of the sickness… I am starting to have some “good” parts of the day more consistently.. We got to hear the heartbeat for the first time today which was so wonderful! Always enjoy reading your blog. 🙂
