Are you ready for another round of weekly updates?
Every Friday {Lord willing}, I’ll update on our newest little arrow!
The Quick Stats:
- I am 7½ weeks.
- I’ve only thrown up once.
- I hate food (unless it is tangy and mushy – which is really weird for me)
- I sleep a lot.
- I’ve been doing my regimen of Epsom salt baths and magnesium lotion (more on this soon!)
- I’ve managed to keep up my B vitamins as well.
- I am feeling fairly well, and I really think it has a lot to do with the previous 2 points!
{and hopefully, this explains why I’ve been a little sporadic here on the blog!}
Tomorrow, I have a wonderful giveaway going on for some natural products I am really looking forward to using with the new baby (and already use with my entire family!). Don’t miss it! (Here’s a sneak preview!)

Sarah Jordan says
I read about Pink Stork Morning Sickness Solutions through your blog last pregnancy. I bought the mild version right away. I was already 10.5 wks along, had been puking violently around the clock for 4.5 wks and I’d thrown up till week 18 with previous 10 pregnancies. Within 24 hrs of taking I stopped throwing up and never threw up again. At hour 48 I left my house for a trip to park after not leaving my house at all for 3 wks. At hour 72, I actually meal planned, made a list and went to the store!!!! It took about a wk to regain my energy. I hope that you feel good enough to not need it, but if you start to feel icky, order from them!!! I know that reducing my sick time helped my entire pregnancy, I was able to eat right, keep vitamins, herbs and minerals down that made the whole pregnancy better. It ended up being best pregnancy, labor, delivery and recovery out of 12 pregnancies (10 kids under 17, 1 miscarriage, 1 infant death). We had a little girl in May. 12 years after our daughter passed away. We have 8 boys (7 in a row ages 13-3) and now, 2 girls (15 & 9 months). Congrats!!! What a blessing! I enjoyed following your last pregnancy as some of our pregnancy overlapped a little. Sarah

Congratulations! I just found out I was expecting #5 a week and a half ago. I am still processing it all – babies are great, but I homeschool and feel overwhelmed many times with the 4 I have. I know I need to get my routines in a better place and train my kids more. I also feel a bit old as I will be 42 when I (God-willing) give birth.
Amy says
Congratulations! I know exactly where you are. God gives grace and mercy, my friend.
Kb says
I’m feeling EXACTLY how you described. Have 4, the youngest being 2 mo. I’m 40 and homeschool as well. I’m so overwhelmed that I don’t know where to begin on making a better routine and need huge improvements and consistency in training as well!
Diana says
Oh, oh, oh!! Congratulations!!! How very, very exciting!! I’ll be praying for you and baby. So happy to hear you’ve only thrown up once!
Sabrina says
Congratulations!!!!
Cindy says

Kathryn says
YAY! Congratulations, Amy!! Blessings to you and your little one and your family!
Josi says
Such exciting news! Yes, it’s always fun to be along for the ride with your updates on the baby-growing journey. My favorite is still the fruit ticker! Ha! And by the way, I’m trying to figure out what foods qualify as tangy and mushy? I hope you’re finding many satisfying things in that category! Congratulations Amy & family 🙂
Amy says
Things like chicken salad with lemon on it, guacamole with plenty of lime and salt, BBQ sauce on potatoes (I know, gross, huh?), sharp cheddar cheese, honey mustard dressing…all by itself. Ha!
Josi says
I wonder how long it would have taken Ty to figure out you’re pregnant if you wouldn’t have told him but just waited for him to see you at the frig downing the bottle of honey mustard dressing? Ha! This made me laugh right at a time when I needed it. And it’s so fun to read about all these other ladies who are pregnant too. I’m beyond pregnancies myself but I say “yay” to all you awesome women who are carrying these precious babies and being fruitful and multiplying. May the Lord bless you!
Titania Montoya says
Congratulations on new baby. How old is the youngest? Also what kind of pregnancy test ia that?.I have never seen it.
Amy says
Early Pregnancy Tests (.com – I think)
Tamara says
Awwww! We’re so happy for you. God makes all things beautiful in His time. I was just thinking about your family as I downsize and declutter our 1 bedroom living situation (mom dad and two girls). You’ve been a blessing to our lives and I pray sustained health for you and bambino/a #10
Michele@ Family, Faith and Fridays says
Amy, Congratulations! so very excited to see your news! Praying for a healthy pregnancy!
Vickie says
One of my daughters is about 7 weeks as well. She began throwing up last week and hasn’t been able to keep her prenatals down. She has a bladder infection now and can’t even keep the antibiotics down. Can’t wait to hear what Epsom salt baths’ purpose is.
Congratulations!!!
Amy says
You might have her look into Pink Stork too – she may be beyond what the Epsom salts can do.

Christine Hill says
Congratulations! We just welcomed our 10th 12 days ago. 8 girls, 2 boys. What an adventure! I’ve found much help and inspiration in your blogs and appreciate the time you take to write it. Blessings on your pregnancy.
Hannah says
Hi Christine! How do you do it? Raise that many? I am feeling crazy with trying to keep up and homeschool. I have four 6 and unnder. I am so worn out this last week…. thanks.
Hannah says
Sorry I am asking you…a complete stranger. I just don’t have many around me I can ask…
Christine Hill says
Hi Hannah. I don’t mind you asking at all. I have four, 5 and under. 😉 How do I do it? One day at a time! And only by the grace of God. I do also have six more, 7 and older. There are many days I think things were easier when they all were little. Toddlers are physically exhausting, but teenagers are emotionally exhausting. Keep your goals and expectations reasonable. Homeschooling at the ages of your oldest kids should be pretty low key. Know that some days, and some weeks, are going to be better than others. Every morning, and every Monday, is a new beginning. Finding a couple of blogs like this one, written by women who have been walking the road I’m on, longer than I have, keep me inspired and remembering that I’m not alone in this monumental undertaking. If you want to chat some you can email me at thewihills at ymail.com I haven’t figured out how to fit blogging into my life yet. 😉 Amy must be super-organized!
Phyllis Sather says
I’m so happy for you!
Kelly Retzer says
CONGRATULATIONS!! What a true blessing this is for you and your family! We are currently expecting # 12 in June! May I ask when you are due?
Psalm 127:3 says “Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb a reward.”
Will pray you have a safe and healthy pregnancy!
Amy says
In October. 🙂
Jennifer says
Congratulations! I’m 9 1/2 weeks pregnant with #6 so it’s exciting to be able to follow along with you! May God bless you with a smooth pregnancy and a healthy baby!
Samantha Hatcher says
I’m so excited for you, my beautiful friend. Praying for you and your little one.
rebecca says
Congrats!
We are currently just past 11 weeks pregnant! We plan to announce it this weekend at 12 weeks, but I am getting the ITCH to share the news- it’s hard to keep it in!!!
This will be #8 (or #8 and 9?? I’m a little suspicious of twins actually)
I wish I only threw up once!!!
but God gives us strength in ALL THINGS and gravol has been working now along with careful eating and drinking. I have used and needed diclectin in the past but it’s SO expensive and I need to take such a high dose for it to help that I have been trying an alternative and so far gravol seems to helping somewhat- so I’m thankful for that! Magnesium and vitamin B were part of my regimen in the early weeks after seeing some suggestions to try it, but I became so violently ill that I couldn’t even keep up with them- not sure they were really helping anyway?
trying NOT to hate food – I already lost over 10 lbs! (why can’t it be that easy AFTER the baby- lol!)
AND we move to our new house TOMORROW! Hah- I just have to laugh at God’s timing, but He always proves faithful to carry us through 🙂 (I’m on a packing break right now and enjoying your blog!)
Anyway I am happy to hear that you feel fairly well. I think it would be wonderful if we could all enjoy good health during pregnancies! I pray that you have a wonderful blessed pregnancy!
BLESSINGS~
Rebecca
Amy says
Hang in there, Rebecca! And TWINS?! Can’t wait to hear THAT news!
Victoria says
What an exciting time! Congratulations!
Amy says
Congrats!!! How exciting! 🙂
Alyson says
That’s so awesome!!! I know you’re looking forward to cuddling with a new baby soon!! Side note… this may seem dumb to ask but can you nurse while pregnant? I am currently nursing and there is a possibility I am pregnant. It’s too soon to know for sure yet, so I was just wondering how all that works. Haha I’m only asking you bc I don’t know anybody personally how has been in this situation. If you don’t respond I understand, not trying to be all up in your business 😉
Amy says
Yes! I have nursed all the way through (I did have to supplement some because you do tend to lose a bit of your milk supply), and even tandem nursed two babies that were 16 months apart.
Kelly Retzer says
Yes, absolutely! It is possible to get pregnant while breastfeeding; it is also possible to continue breastfeeding while pregnant. Hubby and I are expecting # 12 in June and I have personally experienced both more than once!
Just do your best to stay well hydrated!
Alyson says
Thank y’all so much for answering so quickly! I’m glad to hear that I am still able to nurse without worrying
Deb says
Oh wow!! Congratz!! 😀

For a while with my last pregnancy, I could only do tangy/mushy things! Sauerkraut mixed into mashed potatoes and barbecue sauce in mashed potatoes were my favorite. I also loved canned green beans with vinegar and salt on them. Congratulations!!!!
Rebekah B. says
I am so happy because I am currently expecting number nine and I’ve always wished that one of the women’s blog that I follow would be expecting right along with me… help pass time and read about someone else’s journey. I also like reading about those that have had a larger family.
Thank you for sharing with us!

I am anxious do here about your morning sickness fixes…as I have it all day long! With homeschooling 3 and keeping up with the other 2, it’s exhausting. Congrats again. May God bless you and this pregnancy through.
Deli Lanoux, Ed.d. says
Silly Amy! We all make mistakes. They give God plenty to laugh at.
And I took the “o” in “surprose” as a subconscious clue (cue) to your growing roundness. Very cute indeed!
Hannah says
Hi Amy! I just wondered how do you do this? Have that many children and stay sane. Haha. I am feeling so tired and things pile despite endlessly working on it. I am feeling a little like I am drowning…at times. We have four 6 abd under . Thanks.

Congrats! Love your blog! When the Lord began to work on my heart in regards to trusting Him with our fertility, yours was the first blog I came upon! That was 6 years and 4 babies ago! Despite childhood cancer, a teriminal diagnosis for another child and two miscarriages, Lord willing, our 7th baby will arrive in September! ????
meghan B says
We’re pregnant at the same time again. How fun! I haven’t been on your site in awhile and wondered today if you might be expecting!
I’m using magnesium spray and it’s been helpful for pregnancy headaches and cramps. Happy pregnancy to you. I’m due in November.
