Remember, I said I was going unplugged? More than likely you couldn’t even tell because I had posts scheduled, but for about a week I had no internet access…on purpose.
The only reason I have access now is because I am at the Savvy Blogging Summit in Breckenridge, CO (a million thank yous to my wonderful sponsors: Valley of Life and Sweet Little Blessings!). The fire you see above is right in my room, courtesy of my husband!
Have I ever told you how amazing my husband is? 😉 Well, while I’ve been learning a million things about blogging I didn’t know, my wonderful husband has been keeping the children occupied with museums and hikes and cookies and cupcakes.
They’ve been taking in the scenery and having a good ole time!
We are all having a wonderful time here! If you’ve ever been curious about how to take your blog to a new level or just have questions you’d like to ask, I highly suggest looking into the Savvyblogging and SBSummit hashtags on Twitter. They are full of good information!
One quick story…
All the way out here, I kept looking longingly at all the beautiful creeks and telling my husband I wanted to dangle my feet in one. I am already tired of the summer heat. Colorado creeks look so inviting and cool!
Finally, I got the chance to sit on the bank and put my hot, swollen feet in the water; however…
It was soooooo incredibly cold, I could only manage a few seconds before me feet went completely numb! But, we all took a turn dipping our feet and enjoying the fact that in the middle of July a mountain creek could actually be so cold we couldn’t stand it!
I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend…even if it isn’t filled with blogging conferences, mountain creeks, and roaring fires!

Isn’t it great having husbands who are a the perfect mix of old fashioned and modern? They work hard to bring home the bacon and be the spiritual leader AND get into the parenting trenches with you. My husband was at the mall with our kids once and some lady commented, “Awww, are you babysitting?” He said, “No. I’m parenting.”

Tried to look at the hashtaqs of things learned at the meeting, but cannot seem to find the information on anything. Can you please tell me how to do that?
Thanks and blessings,
Lisa

You can follow savvyblogging from the link I had in the post or from http://savvyblogging.net and click in the menu bar where it says #savvyblogging. You can also go to tweetchat and follow the #sbsummit or #savvyblogging hashtags there. Let me know if that helps. 🙂

Amy glad to hear you had a fun and relaxing trip~
Kuddos to your hubby for keeping the herd busy!
I’m glad you did not fall in that creek. Mountain creeks can be fast moving just under the surface. The currant can be strong and the water cold as you found out! (sorry if I sound like a mother hen! 🙂
I’m sure you were safe!
Vacations can be ssssooo fun, they give a family a closeness and memories that will last forever.
Colorado is beautiful, I once lived in Denver, my dad grew up in Boulder and Arvada so we would visit my grandma there!
Your tummy is looking BIG….I bet delivery day can’t come fast enough!
Summer has us pretty busy with fun outside activites(gardening, walking, boating and parks) so I post every few days and have not even stayed at the computer long enough to read or visit my friends!
Peace and Love,
Georgiann

Georgiann,
I actually got “stuck” sitting there due to my sciatic nerve! It was not the pleasant experience I was hoping for, but it was beautiful! We hiked and hiked and hiked that area. But, I am feeling my size and gestatation…that’s for sure! (and you can mother hen me all you want. 😉 )

LOL yeah, mountain snow run off keeps those mountain creeks cold. Last year when we had an unusually long heat wave we went about 20 min. away to a campground just a little further up in the hills. The water was cold! 105* out. I’m sure that in the trees and by the water was more like 95* though.Looks refreshing. I’m glad your kids were able to experience what that is like.

My 9 year old insisted on braving the cold…that girl is made of steel! lol Someday I want to whitewater raft in CO, but that might have to wait for another season of life. 😉
