So, the other day my friend’s sister somehow convinces me to give up soda (surely she didn’t mean forever!)
That was Friday.
Today is Monday and I am pretty sure I can hear Sonic calling my name. Its styrofoam cups filled with that amazing crushed ice swimming in delectable Dr. Pepper are chanting, “Amy! Amy! Amy!” from down the street. Listen closely, you will hear it too!
Well, maybe not, but when you would really like to have something and you’ve decided you are going to abstain from that something, it seems everywhere you look, there that thing is. Because of this little fact, I have decided to reward myself with a consolation prize (this could be dangerous!)
That consolation prize are these delightful (and as good for you as you can get in a cookie) COOKIE. Mmmmm…..
I’ve also discovered a wonderful little treat called No-Nut Nutella or Seedtella. We don’t have nut allergies here, but the woman who keeps the blog I robbed this little treat from does. My husband actually likes this better than the store-bought stuff.
Might go make myself some coffee too. You know, to make myself feel better for not getting any Dr. Pepper. I could load it up with my favorite syrups or throw some stevia or agave nectar in there, and top the whole thing off with some yummy cream! (Hope I wasn’t planning on losing any weight by abstaining from soda!)
Ahhhhhh…..I could get used to doing without. ;o)

Hi Amy! Sorry. I’m REALLY bad about reading comments on other people’s blogs after my own comment. So……I only just noticed that you were interested in the recipes that I mentioned for whole grain baking!
Only catch is that I can’t find your email address! They are easy to attach to an email but tooooooo long to put in a comment. Please email me at the link on my blog and I’ll email the recipes to you! Thanks Amy! – Deedee

Hey girl~
Did you know we just got our first Sonic up here! It opened last week!
I waited about 1 hr. for my first Sonic burger ever. I had seen the commercials but had never been!
I got the watermelon slush! Yummo!
I posted(last week) all about opening day at the SONIC!
I will have to try some of these snack recipes! They sound yummy!
I did not check your hyper links yet.
But I remember your yummo oatmeal cookie. So healthy you can serve them for breakfast!
Do you care if I post the recipe on my recipe blog?
Blessings,
Georgiann

Hi Amy. Thanks for the kind words today on my blog. You certainly know grief – I’m sorry for that.
I know what you’re talking about in the soda dept. I think it is my one true addiction. I have cut out Diet Pepsi but still can’t seem to give up the caffeine free version. One time for Lent I gave it up and gained weight. I figured out that my diet soda was my snack and if I couldn’t have that I needed something sweet. Sometimes I rationalize and say “what’s so bad about soda anyway?”
Oh, and yes when you’re trying to give them up you see them everywhere and I usually think how lucky that person is. crazy – that’s why I know it’s my addiction 🙂
