Years ago I looked for a way to get my prenatal vitamins in without having to actually take those monstrous yucky pills that inevitably just made me sicker. I tried taking the kids’ vitamins, but that was only slightly better. My usual method of choice was to just not take them at all.
I know, not a real healthy choice, but when they come right back up, what’s the point?
This is where Twitter comes in.
Yeah, you read that right…Twitter.
Somewhere along the line I start seeing tweets from a company called Be Nice, and lo and behold, they sell prenatals you can drink!!!
So, I asked for a free sample and loved it!
It’s great! (I’m especially fond of the lemonade!) All you do is dump a packet in a big glass of water, stir, and drink (I add ice, because I love ice!) I plan on trying it in a smoothie too! Yum! And all the while, I’m getting vitamins that I simply am not getting any other way.
Now, in order to get a full dose of daily vitamins, you would need to drink 4 glasses, which I’m just not capable of doing; however, I figure, even one packet a day is better than I’ve been doing. In fact, one packet a week is better than what I’ve been doing!
Interestingly enough, Be Nice Prenatal Vitamins started more as a healthy drink for expecting mothers than a way for morning sickness plagued mamas to get their prenatals down. However, after my experiences with the company, I let them know how impressed I was with the product for that very purpose. I’m hopeful, they’ll market in that direction because I’m thinking I’m not the only one who has looked for years for an easier way to take my prenatals.
And for all my green friends out there…
Be Nice Prenatal Vitamins uses recycled paper to package their product, and the plant the product is manufactured in uses 100% wind generated power! How awesome is that?!
I’ve got a button to their site in their sidebar or you can click one of the links within this post to go check out their site. I’d love to see this company get up and running with its awesome product!
AND GUESS WHAT!!
Just got word from the company that if any of my readers order and mention Raising Arrows, they get a FREE BOX! Woo Hoo!
Disclosure: I received a case of Be Nice Prenatal Vitamins, but that fact does not influence my wholehearted endorsement of this product. I’ve got my integrity to uphold here. I just want to see a really great product do really well!

I HATE prenatal vitamins. My midwife said the Rainbow Lite ones were better than the regular grocery store prenatals, and they did seem better, but I’d rather not ever have to swallow a disgusting horse pill. I’ll have to remember these drink mixes for the next time I get pregnant!
I just remembered one of my favorite pregnancy snacks: Luna Bars. I won a big box of Berry Almond bars in a blog giveaway and it lasted all through my pregnancy. There were some days when I didn’t feel like eating anything, but the slightly sour berries made those edible for me, and they had a lot of the vitamins I needed. I relied heavily on them for a couple of months! They are a good way to get a little protein, too. Now I order my Luna Bars on eBay (because I can’t afford to eat bars that cost $1+ all the time. I have some Luna Protein bars coming soon and I haven’t tried one of those yet but I’m hoping they’ll be as good as the original.

I’ve heard stories about those “monster prenatals” not even dissolving…to work (why are they so big and gross?).I’ve taken a peek at SuperMom, but I may just have to look into these, thanks Amy!

Mmmm…this sounds good. Kind of like Gatoraid for mamas! 🙂 I’m going to request a sample.

I am going to have to look into these. For my first 2 pregnancies I used childrens chewables and for my last I used Melaleuca brand because they are small and very easy to swollow. Although I have a gag reflux like crazy and it is hard to takes these even when I am not pregnant. So I will be looking into these drinkable ones! I can totally do that becuse I need to drink more and that would convince me to do it!

Thanks! I’m not pregnant 🙁 but I do have a whole bottle of prenatels that I’m trying to force myself to take! I gag just thinking about it! So this sounds like a great idea to me!

I use Pre-Natal Care by TWINLAB. The bottle is a 2 months supply of capsules {you take 2 a day one in the am and another in the pm} They are very gentle, since you spread the dose over the day~
Fred Meyer carries them in the health food section for about $24.00 a bottle. I try to get them when on sale for $18.00 a bottle!
I will pray that you will find something that will stay down.
Blessings,

I also hate taking prenatal vitamins and have been looking for chewable ones like Michele Duggar recommends, but to no avail. I’ll have to check this out, not that I need it. But, I’d like to.

Amy,
Just bringing this thought up makes me sick just remembering those moments. I only wish that these were available when I was pregnant, this would have been so much easier to deal with rather than those vanilla scented horse pills.

This sounds awesome but I don’t know if I would like the taste or not. Hmmm and reading the comment about the cost kinda puts me off on it.
Jennifer says
I really like the idea of these! I just did the math though and daily cost for the full dose(so we’re comparing oranges to oranges) of vitamins is $3.20! That $40 box of 50 packets is only supposed to last 12.5 days! Yikes. The free box would help bring that down a little but still 🙁 It’s just too much for this frugal mommy so despite the fact that the pills are nasty and make me sick I guess I’ll just keep taking them. Especially since our local pharmacy does prenatals for free and my Dr.’s office will also give out as many free samples of prenatals as I need at each visit!
Amy @ Raising Arrows says
Hey ladies! Just found out that if you do order and mention Raising Arrows, they’ll give you a FREE BOX!

That is so wonderful that they make a tasty vitamin that you drink. I am so glad that you found a prenatal vitamin that works for you! How is the morning sickness? I hope that it getting better now.
