Like you, I am in a weird spot being that I am an older mom (mid to late 40’s) with a just turned 10 year old son. We struggled with infertility for 11 years, so I was older when I finally had my son. Most everyone I know my age, has kids graduating, getting married, and some are even becoming grandparents. Most people with 10 year olds are in their late 20’s or early 30’s and have a bunch of little ones under their 10 year old. I’m usually more the age of their Mom – which can be kinda strange! It is incredibly difficult to find and make friends at this stage in life. I have the opposite problem from you, as I have one child. While it’s easy enough to get out, I find that most families just play among siblings (big families have no need to look outside themselves for playmates – it our experience) so it is hard for my son to get acceptance & invited to play at playgrounds and other public areas. So yes, it’s hard all the way around.

Yes, I could see that being very difficult! I’m praying you find someone you can really connect with!

I always joke that I have a uniform…and I do. I wear jeans, Birkenstocks, wool socks, t-shirt, and hoodie every. single. day. My teen girls roll their eyes at my lack of fashion. But I’m cozy and it cuts down on decision making every day.
