I’ve used music in varying degrees in all my pregnancies. With my oldest child, it was at the end of pregnancy when the restless legs were making me crazy and sleep always seemed just out of reach. I listened to Enya’s Watermark cd over and over and over. It was enough to lull me into a decent sleep. I was grateful.
My current favorite is David Nevue’s Whisperings. I rarely make it past track 4 before I am sound asleep, no matter how bad my stomach aches.
So, as I lay here, growing this itty bitty human being, I am enjoying not only the pregnancy itself, but the soundtrack of this pregnancy.
Another thing I enjoy in the bathtub is my Homemade Bath Oil~especially during this cold, dry winter weather. And don’t miss tomorrow’s Guest Post about music education in the homeschool classroom.

Wow, good for you finding ways to enjoy even the icky days of pregnancy! I am 24 weeks along with my fourth right now; I am always exuberant in the first few weeks before nausea kicks in, then I just survive the next few months until it goes away and I can enjoy the rest of the pregnancy and rejoice in a new baby coming to our family.

You poor lady…I’m glad that music is helping. It’s also wonderful for your baby, you know. I’m a believer in talking to your baby, reading Scripture, playing exceptional (and soothing would certainly fit in there) music, etc., so “enjoy” relaxing on the sofa and listening to beautiful, soothing music–that sounds like good medicine for you right now….feel better, I’m praying.
Hugs,
Wendy

I used Enya’s music in all of my pregnancies and labors. In fact, when I went to the hospital for my second birth, the labor nurses remembered me from my first birth 222 months earlier because I was playing the same Enya music.

Amy,
I’m so sorry to hear that you are still sick! I pray that it will pas quickly. I too had restless leg issues with my pregnancies. My husband used to get me packed in with pillows, then he would touch my legs (not rub them because that would agitate me worse) until I fell asleep. God bless him, too, because I take a long time to fall asleep!
I gave you a Beautiful Blogger Award on my blog. I love reading your posts! You can see it here:
