I love planning for Christmas Day and the way we exchange gifts after dinner – we always have fun, little treats for my parents and kids and each other – almost like a secret Santa – but my Dad always runs to the front of the house, rings the bell then runs back in. The children STILL think a parcel arrives on the front door step by magic lol

My favorite thing about the holidays…. Hmmm, it’s so hard to pick just one. But, I’d have to say it’s the feeling of Christ. There really is a different feeling in the air, and even though people try to deny it, you can feel Him everywhere. From the nativity scenes, to the family traditions, to the songs we play. And trust me, Christmas music in our house starts November 1st. ;D
Amy says

I feel like I’m still trying to make traditions with my family… So far my favorite thing I’ve planned is our Thanksgiving tree. My husband mounted a branch to a block of wood, and each year we add more paper leaves to it. Each day we all fill in 3 leaves with things we are thankful for, then hang them on the tree. We’ve had the tree for three years because no one wants to throw it away, so we just keep adding! I just hide it and then bring it out during Novemeber.
Elizabeth Velderman says

I don’t generally do a lot of planning, just fly by the seat of my pants. I probably should though because we have a busy household with 7 children and 1 on the way. One thing we do like to do as a family is read Advent books by Arnold Ytreeide, they are so good!
Lindsey says
Our favorite thing to do for the Christmas season is decorating EVERYTHING. They love the whole pomp and circumstance the DAY AFTER THANKSGIVING. That is right, y’all. My husband has made it a tradition to get out all the Christmas decorations the same day as Thanksgiving, fixing all the lights, and preparing where they are to go the following day. The kids help hold the ladders, and give him the tools he needs, and snacks to keep his energy up. 🙂
Caroline says

Michelle H says
My favorite holiday thing to plan is “cookie baking day.” Every year my mom and I (and usually my sister) get together and bake some of the same recipes my grandma used to make (and that my mom always made for us growing up). Over the years we’ve added my kids and much mess to the mix. We do cookies, fudge, and candy. I love to bring out the recipes and plan what we need. I clear everything off my kitchen counters we don’t need, though I’ve learned not to bother to do any deep cleaning before hand (that pesky colored sugar can find itself a home in some of the strangest places when put in the hands of little ones). I look forward to that day every year.
Alicia T says
This is my first year planning to give homemade items for gifts. I started canning this year and that has opened a door for me that I’m loving. I also LOVE planning CHRISTmas decorations, get togethers, special time with my husband, and church events.

Pam says
I love the fall and anything pumpkin. I love the idea of making a Thanksgiving tree and placing thankful leaves for everyday in the month of November (although last year this turned into only 1 week prior to Thanksgiving). My favorite thing to do near Christmas is make cookies for our neighbors (this year I plan on including our local fire department) and treat bags for the kids getting off the bus! I love the idea of making a Thanksgiving tree and placing thankful leaves for everyday in the month of November (although last year this turned into only 1 week prior to Thanksgiving).

Marie Weberg says
This year we are moving into a new home just before Thanksgiving. I am pretty sure Thanksgiving dinner will be eaten off our finest paper plates 🙂
I am excited to have a fresh new canvas in our home for decorating and celbrating. We are going to try to incorporate traditions from my German heritage and my husbnad’s Swedish heritage into our new family traditions.
Angie says
My most absolute favorite thing to plan for the holidays is Christmas Eve dinner with our entire family. It is the only time all year that no one has to get up early the next day for work, so no one is in a hurry after the meal to get home and get the kids in bed and then themselves to sleep. We turn on Christmas music softly in the background, the kids play, and the rest of us just sit and talk, laugh, and remember. I love it!
Kelly says
I love planning activities with my kids for the holidays. We love baking goodies, which make great gifts. This planner sounds wonderful! We would love to have one!

Chellie says
I love to plan the holiday family dinners. I don’t know that I will get to this year, as my family and my husband are currently not in agreement over some longstanding issues (prayers please), but that is my favorite part of the holidays. My birthday is right before Thanksgiving and when family asks what I want I tell them I want them to come over for Thanksgiving dinner…
