Thank you for uploading that, I enjoyed listening to it and while homeschooling isn’t an issue for us right now, an emergency folder may be a good idea for us.
Also, you did so very well speaking about Emily, I know how hard that must have been.

Thank you. Every time I ran through it, I did just fine, but once I actually had to say it in a crowd of people, I got choked up.

How I learned this the hard way last year. I was hospitalized for over a month and was almost useless for three more months. But the kids moved on. They would bring me what they had done and I would check it when I felt up to it at the hospital. The only thing we really struggled on was math. We are doing most of it again this summer.
I couldn’t expect my husband to do it. He was doing all he could to keep up. But I did rely on friends who watched the kids to keep them going at times. I wish I would have accepted more help once I got home. Life with a preterm baby that has needs was more than even I was willing to admit to at the time. I know my kids suffered because at times I was simply to tired to help them. I have found that planning ahead and giving your school year some wiggle room helps. But I did not plan to have this much time I was unable to teach.
God gave us the grace to accomplish much in a little time. Now I try to reach out to other mothers. Even if they don’t ask for help, it helps to have someone at least offer help. That lets people know you that they are not alone.

Hey Amy,
I’m not able to download it. It says too many viewres have tried to download. 🙁 Am I the only one having problems? : (
Blesssings,

Amy says
No, you aren’t the only one. 🙁 Too many people are trying to click on it and Google can’t handle it, so you’ll have to keep trying later on. Sorry for the inconvenience.

I am not able to download it either.
We are going through a crisis time. Our 6dd was recently diagnosed with cancer. With all of the doctors appts, testing, surgery, ten day hospital stay, and starting chemo, things have been really chaotic at home. Thankfully, I have been blessed with a wonderful mil. She comes and stays with the children(six ages 3-16) so dh can work. We are looking at me being gone from the home for a month soon for dd to get treatment. Any advice would be appreciated.

Melinda,
I am so sorry. I will be praying for you and your daughter. {HUGS}
One big thing I talk about in the session is getting yourself and emergency folder and putting together a basic schedule for your children, basic meals and grocery lists to go along w/ those meals (nothing fancy!) and list of whatever school subjects your children can do w/o you. That way you mil, or whoever is caring for your children sees what your day looks like at a glance.
Keep trying the download. Google can’t handle the amount of people trying to download (I hadn’t anticipated that…sorry). Hopefully, soon it will be back up.

It worked!! YAY! It’s 2:42 am and I just finished listening to your talk. First al of all, let me start by saying that you have such a sweet and gentle voice. You come across as having a meek and quite spirit. Just beautiful. I learned so much. Giving fear to the Lord is something that I’ve been struggling with A LOT lately. (the past year or so) Your words on that were powerful to me. Your statement about God being a God of order, not chaos convicted me to try harder to have more routine and order in my day. Also, what you said about not hindering people from blessing you is so true. You sounded like a seasoned speaker up there. You did great! No slip ups, UHMS, or anything! I’m sure your husband was very proud of you too!! Thanks for sharing that with us. : ) Now, I’m off to bed, before the baby wakes for his next feeding. : )
Blessings,
Jill

Wonderful! I’m so glad it’s finally working! I’m looking into getting it directly put on my site, so I don’t have to mess with Google. I felt so at ease up there, so I know all the prayers that were said on my behalf were what kept me calm (that, and my dear husbands and friends who came to lend support! 😉 ) Glad you enjoyed it. 🙂

Amy, thank you for this it is a blessing to listen to and gives hope that its ok to let things go. We unfortuantly live in alot of crisis mode, as we have 4 children but the youngest 2 have a very complicated medical life. I feel very guilty about schooling and therapies when they arn’t well enough to do the basics.
Melinda just keep resting in God, our youngest child had cancer 3 years ago. Chemo is exhausting for everyone, definatly you are blessed with a wonderful mil.
I have read your blog for years and apologies for staying silent. Please know that your words you put here are greatly appriciated.
blessings to you all
