Not only can I hardly believe I’ve actually been nominated, but I about fell over when I saw the category I was nominated in…
For real?!
Well, if being SUPER means:
I don’t get everything I intend to do done every day.
I call the kids to school and they all say they have to go to the bathroom…right. that. very. second.
I yell, “Could everyone stop YELLING?!” more often than I care to admit.
I change curriculum like I change my clothes.
I wonder every single day who invented algebra and if I skipped teaching it would anyone notice.
and…
I have to stand up to read to the kids or else I will most definitely fall asleep (and the children will sneak away and play VERY quietly so they don’t have to finish school).
I thank you all for nominating me…you guys are SUPER too!

Cool! I voted for you. I told Jared, if I would be voted for for anything it’d be “Best Strange, Unpredictable, Sometimes Serious, Always Random, Not Super Useful But Will Make You Happy Blog Award” Is there such a thing?
Congrats!

The part about falling asleep really jumped out at me. I think our babies are about the same age. Anna Grace just turned 11 months. She is such a lousy sleeper! God help me! She nurses back to sleep at least five times per night, and she lately won’t be put in her crib at all–wakes up within 10 minutes. Before recent illnesses and teething, she slept in her crib until I was ready for bed, and then she slept with me. Now I can’t get anything done at night–even to relax.
I hate cry it out methods, and because her love language really seems to be physical touch, I doubt if cry it out would work for her anyway. I know–this too shall pass. It wouldn’t be so bad if the other three weren’t still so young themselves.
Anyway, I haven’t been reading your blog long enough to know if you have a similar issue with sleep. Maybe you’re just a night owl? LOL

That’s surely what I imagine my day would be like if I homeschooled! (I also invision all sorts of fairy-tale like good things about it too – unrealistic things!)
It’s so funny what you said about Algebra because I am in my second semester in college (of Algebra) and it is so beyond complex I just KNOW that there is no way I will ever do this again in my life. And I have 2 semesters of Algebra left – and I wonder, if it is this hard now, what more can they do with an equation? Just when I think it gets as bad as it’s going to get (complicated) – it keeps coming!
I am sure you are a deserving (wonderful) homeschooling mom!

You deserve it Amy. Not because you’re “perfect” with perfect kids and perfect schedules… but because you keep finding ways to do it better. I think that’s my definition of a true Supermom… someone who is just figuring out what works as they go along and keeps on trying until they find a great way to do it, is not afraid to admit they don’t always have it together and didn’t always do it right, and loves to share what has worked for them. You definately fit the bill. Plus you’re encouraging and I noticed you try to make a point of visiting bloggers back who have commented on your posts when you have the time to do so, which I think is really sweet!

I am glad your Godly efforts are being recognized!
I wanted to apologize for being so self-absorbed with my baby’s sleep issues that I forgot to congratulate you earlier!

Awww, Mirage…you’re sweet! And yes, that is what I try to do…keep learning, tell people what works for me as I go, and be real.
And you are right…I flag comments in my inbox as I go and then visit as I can. I figure if someone takes the time to visit here, I can at least take the time to get to know them better.
Again,
Thanks for all of your kind comments everyone! I appreciate them so much!
