We started back to school yesterday.
I know, I know…some of you are thinking that is WAY too early after just having a baby, but frankly, I’m always chomping at the bit to get back to something that resembles normal and Creed is such an easy keeper, there was no reason not to go ahead and dive back in.
Right now, homeschooling is fresh and exciting because we’ve been away from it so long, but I know as Spring approaches, I’m going to start needing some refreshment and motivation.
That’s why every time Teach Them Diligently rolls out another announcement, I get so excited!
My oldest daughter is looking forward to hearing Pam Tebow speak, Ty is looking forward to the Men’s Breakfast again this year (which is an AMAZING event and well worth the $5!), I can’t wait to actually meet Colin Gunn, and my oldest son is excited about attending the Four-12 Teen Track (seriously meaty stuff and not your “average” teen program).
In fact, nearly every week I find out about another speaker or announcement that makes me so glad I’ll be going to this MEGA homeschooling conference! May cannot come soon enough!
So, if you are in need of some homeschooling refreshment and can find a way to get to one of these amazing conferences, I urge you to join me there!
There are 3 conferences this year: Omaha, Nashville, and Spartanburg. I’ll be at the Omaha and Nashville conferences, so I hope to see you there!

We are going the the conference in Nashville, and I kept praying that you would hopefully be able to meet you. I know it will be big, but this just adds one more bit of excitement to the trip for me. It will just be my husband, the baby and I, as this will also be an Anniversary trip for us. We are going to extend the trip by 2 days and celebrate our 18th Anniversary together in Nashville.

Wow, this conference looks great, I’ve never heard of it, but would love to go. I’ll be praying the Lord makes a way for us. Do you know if they have any kind of used book sale at this one or if the Rod and Staff company every participates?
Amy says
I don’t think there is a used book sale per say, but there are sometimes companies that deal in used books that come to conferences like this. I can’t remember if Rod & Staff was there last year or not. Last year was their first year and they have expanded this year, so it is quite possible R&S will be there.

It is close to our anniversary too and we’re planning to extend our trip a bit too since we are only taking baby to that one as well. 😉 Find me!

Believe me I will!!!

Planning to be there as well. I need to register the children for the children’s program…K

I’ll be at the Nashville convention. What do you do with your children who are too young for the children’s program? I’ll have a one year old and a three year old along…K
Amy says
I will have the baby with me, but I think I’m going to either bring a helper for the 2 yo or he’ll stay with Grandma. I believe Mommy’s Helpers are allowed if you are able to do something like that.

Congratulations on your new little boy Creed….I love original names. Just wanted to say a quick “hello” from Lancaster County PA. I am actually looking forward to some inspiration and encouragement today, so I decided to stop by and get some tips from a professional home educator : ) My eldest is now 14…but there is so much to learn from coming from a highly academic mindset and transitioning into a larger homeschool family with practicality and joy in mind. I keep going over that Scripture “My yoke is easy and my burden light” Jesus spoke this, and I need this all day long.
Also, I just wanted to say, it will be a real treat for your son to meet Mr. Gunn. I have personally met him and he truly is a humble man, and really neat to talk to. I hope to meet his wife someday. Have you seen Monstrous Regiment of Women? No words to describe-how it impacted our family. Also, in Act Like Men, my husband and little boy make an appearance. All of his documentaries are wonderful, especially INDOCTRINATION. Hope you have a wonderful week. Blessings!

I have seen Monstrous Regiment! We are huge Colin Gunn fans (and Emily Gunn fans 😉 ) I have not seen Act Like Men, but thank you for letting me know…I’ll have to see if I can get my hands on it!

My husband and I wanted to go last year, but our daughter was born at the end of April and spent a long time in the hospital. We’d love to go this year, but we’ll just have to see how well she progresses by then. Unfortunately, the one we’d be attending is the one you won’t, so I guess I won’t get to meet you 🙁

🙁

This is my first year to go to a TTDC and I am super excited! I love right down the road from Nashville. I will be on the look out for your face and that sweet little baby. May just have to say a quick hello if I can find you. 🙂
Amy says
Please do!
