Every year we pile into the van and take a trip around town looking at the lights. We’re in a new city this year, so we’ve had to explore a bit to find the best areas for lights. So far, several places are on our list and I’m hoping we can make it to all of them.
This last weekend, we took in a light show that benefits the local special needs programs.
We were greeted by Chester Cheetah and a massive amount chips:
The light show was nice and long and we drove REALLY slow. Here are a few of our favorites…
These next ones were in the lake!
On the way out we saw a light show that always makes my stomach turn – police and emergency vehicles lining the sides of the street. We don’t know what happened, but I spent the rest of the drive home praying for the people involved.
We pulled up to our home with its simple strand of lights illuminating the eves and our lovely Christmas tree all aglow…
and the unparalleled beauty of God’s lights.

Beautiful light show, but you are right in that the lights waiting for you at home and God’s lights are the best of all!

Oh Amy, you are making me miss home with your Winter Wonderland pics! With my baby due this weekend I’m pretty sure I’m not gonna brave a 3 hour drive to take it in this year but I will be taking my little one there to see it next year for sure! It is always a really good display and for such a good cause!

Thanks for sharing. It looks like a beautiful lights show. So far every year we take everyone out one evening (at least) for a walk around our neighborhood to look at the lights. We enjoy getting to see the lights close up and a walk in the dark is kind of romantic.

Awww, that does sound lovely. 🙂

I was so excited to read your post today because I knew those lights looked familiar, I grew up going to that same display every year! It is always a treat to return home during the Holidays and see those lights again! Thanks for sharing made my day!

Oh, we do this every Christmas Adam (comes before Eve 😉 ) with hot cocoa and we each get to vote on our favorite. We place a note in the mailbox (or near their front door) for each of the “winners”. The kids just love choosing. Fun memories!

That is such a neat tradition! And the Christmas Adam cracked me up! 😉
