Fridays seem a little bare, don’t they?
So, here’s my thought and I’d love your input!
I liked Friday being a bit more personal, so how would you like a glimpse into my week? Sometimes I would post on my weight loss efforts (only 9 pounds of pregnancy weight to go! Woot!). Other times I would post on our homeschool week or some project we are working on or something the kids are doing.
Would you like that?
And if you have other ideas, leave them in the comments section! And watch for another Ask Amy tomorrow. I’ll be answering the question of what to do when the extended family isn’t all that crazy about you having another baby. Oh boy!

Charlotte Moore says
That sounds good!!! Congratulations on just 9 more pounds of baby weight to go.
Amy says
Thank you!
Alene says
Not happy about another boy???? Well, that’s just sad for them. Boys are a blessing!!!!
Jillian says
Congrats on your weight lose! I’d love to get an idea of what your week was like. Sorta like a recap, right? 🙂 I thought too from time to time you could share a new recipe that you tried and enjoyed. Or some interesting Pinterest finds? Who can get enough of that site? 😀
Amy says
Oh Pinterest…the addiction of mothers everywhere! lol

And don’t forget baby milestone updates! By the way – I had my baby too! Little Noah was born on the 14th. Can’t wait for tomorrow’s post! I thought I was the only one to experience “Don’t you have enough kids already”-ism. Oh and of course the favorite quote people use when you have a new baby with more than two children at home – “Don’t you know what causes it yet?” Congrats on baby Creed! I hope you’re recovering well.
Kim says
Stephanie, I had to laugh when I read your “Don’t you know what causes that” Quote, I’ve heard that way to many times, Thankfully God has given me the strength to be calm. LOL!!! Congrats to you too, I was blessed by a new sweet baby girl just a few months ago, and we are loving it.
Ashley says
Hahaha I would say sure and I really enjoy doing it obviously hahaha not really but I’d be thinking it in my head

The reply I have come up with is “We’re a happily married couple, babies happen!” And we only have two, so far!

My husband sometimes says “Yes, we know. We’re just really good at it.” 😉

Congratulations!!!!

That sounds great, Amy! We moms of many like getting a glimpse into the lives of other families of many.
Pray you are enjoying your new blessing from the Lord… I know you are! God’s precious little gifts are just awesome!

I remember when I only had 4 little ones. I stalked blogs trying to figure out how to survive! lol I want to be that for others. A beacon of hope that you really can survive AND thrive! 🙂
Kim says
Love that idea and Congrats on your new baby boy 🙂

Congrats on ur weightloss!! That’s awesome! I don’t homeschool my kids but we r considering it since we have 4 and by the time our one yr old is in school it’s gonna get a lil expensive sending all four to the Lutheran private school our older two currently go to so I’d like to see what a typical day would be like. I do really enjoy homaking post like recipes, organizing, homemade products etc…

I love that idea!

Yes! Would love a peek into your world each Friday.

Sounds great Amy, could even give us Creed updates ; ) Our Jesse was born just 6 weeks before Creed, so it’s been fun reading your pregnancy and beyond updates. Whatever you do, I’ll look forward to reading : )

That sounds great. I also love watching the first year of a little ones life. They grow so fast and change so much in the first year. I would love to see a once a month update an that precious new one you got!
Tracy says
Yes please! Our families weren’t happy that we had baby 3 in december and they’re definitely not excited that we already want number 4. I’d love some advice. I can handle comments from strangers, but it’s harder when it’s people you care about and you want them to be excited for God’s blessings with you.
Megan says
I like that idea!

Would love to hear how you organize and stay organized through out the week? Touch on the emotional pulls of being wanted my many little bodies…( I have 7 children) What you do to “refresh” yourself and stay focused and living in the moment! Just a few ideas!! I am into the take care of yourself so that you are able to take care and love everyone else needs you!!

Your comment made me think of this set of posts I did a while back: https://raisingarrows.net/2011/01/enough-of-me-to-go-around/ 🙂

I love the personal touch on your blog, so I think a weekly wrap up or hightlight is great. My suggestion: maybe some tips on breastfeeding–how to’s, what works/doesn’t work, pain relief, milk supply, etc. Even though lactation consultants are GREAT, nothing beats real talk from a real mom.
God bless you, Amy

I like the idea of baby Creed updates. But whatever updates on family/homeschooling you’d like to give would be great! Looking forward to your post tomorrow. Not everyone was excited about our latest addition in Oct. she was our 9th pregnancy, 5th birth, and 4th living child. I think lots of people think we are nuts for not just giving up. Maybe we are, who knows. I think some in our family is just tired of worrying about us through each pregnancy. I can understand that.

I would love it!!

I always love anything you post, somehow it just fits with what I need at the time. God has certainly brought you into my life for a reason. I’m anxiously awaiting tomorrow’s post. We’re expecting our 4th baby in July. We have a 2yr old girl & 11 month old boy/girl twins. I could sure use some advice on how to deal with family negativity when we’re so excited ourselves. Has been very tough for us with us being the only ones in our famliy to let God direct our famly size. Any suggested reading and scriptures are always welcome too. I will in the meantime continue to pray for God to control what comes out of my mouth in response to some of the comments 🙂

I would love this! I have been visiting your blog to figure out how to handle growing from a family of three kids to four and it has been very helpful.

I saw you reply to the comment about “enough of me to go around” and read your past post on that. Those words about God equipping me to cope with what he gives me – it was this faith that got me through parts of my pregnancy with our 8th child. We had settled on 7 happily and then, in spite of our pretty good, but not foolproof efforts, number 8 was a reality. I was shellshocked but realised that this is the way my life was rolling out and, although we had a busy year coming up, I could cope with God’s strength beside me. Never before have I felt such a calming presence in my life and that remains now. I dreaded telling family about the impending new family member because I knew some would not be so excited and delighted, which took some of the glow off the excitement for us. I think the worry factor is in some part the reason for that – plus the fact that, in a conventional family, we are quite overwhelming! Anyway, no.8 was David (now 16 mths) and he is sooo lovely. I can’t imagine life without him and I think he will have lots to teach me. I’m now nearly 44 – do I leave the decision of the size of our family in God’s hands or actively plan our own future? Maybe like last time, His plan for us will quite clearly come to light.
Love all your posts Amy – as someone else said, the subjects always seem so timely and relevant to my life – hardly a coincidence…

Beautiful story, Jodie! Thank you for sharing!

I’d love to hear about your week or your kids or what you’ve been up to! Though I love gleaning info from other moms on blog, I also love to be nosy and just read about their lives, too. 🙂

Hi, Amy!
Maybe you’ve posted this in the past, I don’t know. But how about busy mother of many finding time to devote to the Lord? I really struggle with that! I like to do it early, but by Wednesday, early just isn’t happening anymore! I get run down, then that’s the first to go!
Amy says
Early never happens around here. 😉 I struggle with this as well. Perhaps writing on it would be a good way to get some accountability!
amy says
LOVE the idea. 🙂

Those ideas sound good to me Amy! I like hearing the practical aspects or little hints and tips you share to make life easier as a growing family. Oh and I showed my baby-adoring 4-year-old girl the pictures of Creed and we oohed and aahed over him and she found a white baby suit in the washing (cleaning out to pass excess on to the second-hand shop) and said “Mummy, can we give this to baby Creed?!” She was disappointed when I told her you were in another country and it would really cost too much to send it, and that he’d probably be too big for it already when it got there! (We’re in Australia)
xxx Bless you!
Amy says
Awww, what a sweetie! 🙂 Tell her thank you for her sweet generosity.
