Dear Moms,
Do you feel like you have been spending a fair share of your time staring into oncoming traffic? Do you feel a little blindsided? A little befuddled?
Do you wish you could get off the road, but you can’t find the exit?
I wish I could tell you the way to get off this road you are on, but sometimes it’s not your turn to exit. Sometimes you have to stare down the headlights, face the oncoming traffic, and yes, even get run over.
Not because God doesn’t love you, but because often crisis draws you closer to the only One Who can pick you back up, dust you off, and send you on your way.
So, stop looking for exits and start looking up. Stop focusing on the headlights and start focusing on His light. You may get run over, but He will not leave you there to suffer endlessly.
Trust. Believe. Stand.

And it isn’t always tragedy that leaves us blindsided! Having 7 kiddos in less than 9 yrs certainly threw me for a loop!! I look back now that the youngest is 5, and I wonder how I survived. I think I went into some sort of survival mode where I literally just got through each day, one day at a time, with His help. No looking into the future, or wishing things weren’t so hard, (okay, so maybe I did wish that once or twice), no making excuses, no complaining(well, not much anyway.)

This is so true, Amy! I remember one place we lived in the US when traffic backed up on the highway people literally made their own exits and drove on the grass to get out. In our walk with the Lord we don’t have the option of making our own exits, even though we would like to. We have to stay on the course, sit through the heat, wait patiently and yes, even get crushed in the process. I am so glad that I am not in charge of my own life, because I would not chose what is truly good for me. Wise words, Amy!

Thank you for this! Oh how I needed to hear that this week. I was looking for my “exit”…going back to work. I made more money in my career. It would help financially. I could just go to work and come home. Leave my husband to take care of the kidm all day, cook, clean, etc. But I was looking to “check out”. Not what God wants for me. I am looking up again.
