As we sat on her couch talking late into the evening hours, I realized this woman had purpose.
And the purpose she had wasn’t just talk.
The goals she had posted on her refrigerator were goals that she was already a month into. And despite the end of pregnancy blahs, she was still focused, determined, full of more vim and vigor than I’d ever seen in her before.
And I was encouraged.
I spent the next week mulling over what I had seen in this household…a family so obviously walking a course set apart and ripe with vision.
And I was thankful.
Thankful for friends who are believers not only in name, but in deed.
Thankful for late night talks full of grace, wisdom, and heart.
Thankful for truly restful weekends in the company of friends.
Thankful for the fellowship of believers.
It is so good to have a place to go where you are edified, encouraged and spurred-on to live a life holy and pleasing and set apart for Christ. It is a blessing to have conversations that don’t revolve around the ineptness of husbands, the annoyance of children, and the drudgery of housework.
Today I thank the Lord for friends who walk what they talk and encourage me to do the same.

Amy, even you just mentioning this woman is encouraging to me. Yesterday was one of those “we need a do-over” days…all because I’m nearing the end of my pregnancy and was having a bad attitude because of it. Thank you for the reminder this morning – I needed it.

I am blessed to have a few friends like this, both through MOPs group and just close friends. I have just put into place a small fellowship group to start this month and this is what I envision this group to grow to. Encouraging words at the right time! As always, thank you!

I totally 100% agree with you! my family was lucky enough to meet that type of family last monday. They are so much like us. I prayed every night that God would send like-minded people into our lives and my prayers were answered. their faith, family values, etc. are in line with ours. We also sat up into the late hours just talking about our journeys and our faith. Thank You Jesus for allowing us to meet this family!

I dream of the day I find fellowship with believers like that… What a blessing indeed – count yourself VERY blessed to have friends like that. Some of us feel like we are in a wilderness with no like-minded believers anywhere nearby.
I’m thankful for online like-minded believers, ones I feel I can connect with, even if it is only in a virtual world.

You are so blessed to have a friend like this. I have friends at church, but I don’t feel like I have friends who believe the same as I do. I am very conservative, dress is skirts, etc. This is not something my church does, or other ladies I know. I look for this and yearn for it.

After YEARS of prayer I was brought into a group of women who have the same heart for the Lord, their husbands and their children! Even when we share the “hard times” it’s always in a way to encourage or to ask for prayer…. I love these few women! Just wished I saw them more than once a month 🙁
