In usual Roberts baby fashion, Baby #8 didn’t care to be heard via doppler at my 11 week visit yesterday. Because of my recent miscarriages, the doctor wanted to make sure all was well, so we headed to the sono room and got to see our little one wiggling like crazy! It was wonderful!
This week’s stats:
I haven’t thrown up since Sunday. That doesn’t mean I didn’t want to several times, but I somehow managed to muddle through. Because I’m still experiencing nausea, the ARNP gave me a vitamin with ginger and B6 in it called B Nexa rather than try to add something to the Zofran.
Mornings are always better. By night, I want to crash and burn.
Protein, protein, protein. I eat tons of it (or so it seems). I’ve been doing this for several pregnancies with good results. No, I still don’t feel great, but before I implemented a higher protein pregnancy diet, things were much worse. I haven’t had what I would call hyperemesis since I added so much protein to my diet.
There is a lot of gender speculation going on around here. Nearly everyone is hoping for a baby girl. There hasn’t been a baby girl in the house since Emily and we all still feel her loss. However, I refuse to be disappointed if this is another boy. I am blessed no matter what!

I love your attitued about the gender of your child!!!

this is gonna sound weird but try string cheese and a small ice cold can of regular V8 juice. I don’t know the science around it but it works like magic.

Praise the Lord! I know that it is a huge blessing (and relief) to see that little one squirming around on the sonogram screen!! So happy for you. Hang in there. I’m two weeks behind you and looking to your happy milestones to get me through. LOL. 🙂
Tracy says
Im 11 weeks along as well!!! How exciting!! Congrats!

I go for my 12 week appt next week. Since it’s a midwife, there will be no ultrasound if they can’t hear the heartbeat, but I’m praying to hear that wonderful sound!

I love reading your updates! Hoping you feel better soon. In our home we would like to see some blue 🙂 After 10 years since our son was born and 3 girls in a row, it would be nice. However, my four girls are such a blessing that I would never be dissapointed with another daughter. God is good and He knows what our family needs. Blessings to you during your pregnancy!!
Diana says
Congratulations again – how wonderful! And I’m glad you’re starting to feel better!!
I would love sometime to see a blog post on the influence of protein on how you feel during pregnancy. I have done a lot of research into pregnancy diet influence on morning sickness or hyperemesis, and I’m fascinated by the protein connection.
So excited to meet your newest little one (virtually!) in just a few months!
Jillian says
so is your due date Jan 18th?? : )
glad your feeling at least a little bit better.
Amy says
It is! Although initially they told me Jan 20. The sono says Jan 15, but I NEVER go early, so why do that to myself! lol
Headant says
I looked at that picture and thought girl–but that may just be because everyone I know is having one!
I am so glad your pregnancy is going well. I will continue to pray for you and that sweet baby!
Amy says
LOL – I would love to break out all those sweet girl clothes!

I’m a few weeks behind you with our fourth! I would love to hear what kinds of proteins you are able to get down right now! I know I need to be eating protein but I can’t think of a single thing that is even remotely appetising! Thanks for any help!
Amy says
I eat eggs and sausage every single morning. For some reason, it’s the only thing I can manage. Beyond that, I just try very hard to stay away from meals that are super carby or any sweets. And fried foods send me reeling pretty quick too. It’s a balancing act for sure.

What a happy update, love the picture of that newest blessing of yours! So glad to hear you are ‘managing’ Hugs and Prayers!
Amy says
The B Nexa seems to really be helping! I went shopping today! lol

It is so neat hearing from someone who is due around the sametime as me. I have been feeling overwhelmed with being pregnant and having a 9 month old to care for. I am due January 17th.
Amy says
Alicia,
I remember the first time I had 2 really close together (they were 16 mons apart). I felt overwhelmed for a few months until I realized I was going to be okay and God knew exactly what He was doing! It took some adjustment, but when I ended up pregnant again (and they were close together again) I wasn’t nearly so overwhelmed. 🙂

I’ll be praying for you that God will bless you with your hearts desire, but if he doesn’t, then remember that he has an amazing plan for another little boy.
Dory says
Beautiful…I love seeing God’s creation! It is beyond me how people can say “oh, it is just tissue or a fetus”….May the Lord use this picture to open the eyes and hearts of those who tend to think anything other than “ahhh a beautiful baby crafted by the Lord”
Jaclyn says
I enjoy your pregnancy posts….keep em’ coming!
Amy says
🙂 This is something I’ve never done, but it’s fun for me too. 🙂
Sarah Avila says
It’s always a joy to see that little one moving around in there. A similar thing just happened to me; went in a little over 12 weeks and couldn’t hear the heartbeat with the doppler, so in for an ultrasound we went. Baby is perfect!
Glad all is well with you! I look forward to future updates! Check out my pregnancy link up if you are interested!

Lindsey says
This is kind of an odd question, but do you take all your kids with you to your doctor’s appts? I just wonder cuz I tend to get anxious thinking about such things!
Lindsey says
*And to clarify, I didn’t mean anxious about you doing it, but me…..in the future. Lol! Sorry for the confusion.
Amy says
No, I don’t but I know many women who do. We are blessed with family near enough to help out.
Aimee says
Amy – I truly understand your grief and pain w/ all the miscarriages. I myself had 12 w/ 2 live births. My kids are 8 1/2 yrs apart. I have a son who is 10 and a miracle baby girl who is 22 mos. I’m hoping to get pregnant 1 more time and have a little blessing close to my daughters age. I’ll be praying for you and your pregnancy. 🙂
