I returned again and again to this passage of Scripture as I prepared for my conference session on Homeschooling During Crisis. This Scripture is my prayer…
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.
2 Corinthians 1:3-4
What trials have you endured?
How can you take the comfort you received during that trial and offer comfort to others?
Weekends in the Word is a ministry of Raising Arrows meant to offer a time of worship and encouragement specifically for those mommies who find themselves, due to circumstances beyond their control, unable to attend worship services with other believers. However, all are welcome here each weekend to feast on His Word.

I find comfort in Godly wisdom. In speaking with a few people that I can really trust and having them speak God’s truth into my life for that particular situation. Thank you for sharing this scripture today!

The verse you shared came to me while going through a VERY difficult time. I was a Junior in Bible College when I had my first miscarriage. Devastating. My Senior year, one year later, I had another miscarriage, the same week my husband and I were laid off our jobs. I lay prostrate before the king, refusing to let go until He blessed me. I refused to go through such horrific heartache without reason or purpose. That is when God led me to this verse. I am a certified mental health counselor, and this verse reminds me why I do what I do. So I lead others to healing so that they can show the same comfort to those they touch. It is my goal to help people find purpose in their pain.
I now have 3 beautiful daughters, by the way!

Amy~
I was curious.
I didn’t attend your class at the convention.
I actually saw you a few rows over during a keynote and thought…hmmm. She looks like a blogger I have read before. ;o)
And was wondering…what did you think of the key note speaker and his messages?
I have only homeschooled a couple of years and he gave me a lot to chew on and think about. Especially considering that I don’t homeschool all of my children.
I see you have homeschooled for a little while now and so I wanted to discuss it a little with someone who was there, if you have time. :o)
Thanks, Kristin

I needed this today. I have been going through a really difficult time lately with my extended family and parents. It has been painful and isn’t over yet. Thank you for this.
