that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power…
~Ephesians 1:17-19
I’m reading through Ephesians again and found these verses underlined in pencil with the words, “God will give us these things” written next to it. I needed that reminder.
I needed to be reminded that Paul, a bondservent of Christ sitting in jail, could beyond a shadow of a doubt say that wisdom, and hope, and understanding, and riches and power could be had for the asking no matter your circumstances, no matter your worries.
Every day homemakers and mothers have worries and troubles and problems they must work through. We search high and low for the answers.
But do we look high enough?
Is your schedule a mess and your time management non-existent? Ask God.
Are you lost as to how to discipline and disciple your children ? Ask God.
Are you and your spouse/your mother-in-law/your church family at odds? Ask God.
Ask Him for…
a spirit of wisdom & revelation
knowledge of Him
eyes of understanding
hope
riches of His glory
His power
Enlightenment beyond anything anyone in this world can offer.
He is faithful.
He is creative.
He is Almighty.
Weekends in the Word is a ministry of Raising Arrows meant to offer a time of worship and encouragement specifically for those mommies who find themselves, due to circumstances beyond their control, unable to attend worship services with other believers. However, all are welcome here each weekend to feast on His Word.

Oh how I needed this today! I recently posted on my blog about struggling with discipline issues.
“Are you lost as to how to discipline and disciple your children ? Ask God.”-This seems obvious, but so often it’s the last thing I think to do. I try to read every parenting book, come up with a thousand ideas and then I get overwhelmed.
Thanks for all you put into your blog!
Blessings:)

God can use those parenting books and websites, etc, but I need to seek HIM first! Thank you for your kind words, Marcee! 🙂

Hi Amy!
This is kind of unrelated to the post… but awhile back I think you posted about a cloth Bible that you had for your little ones. I remember you saying it was a bit pricey but well worth it… I’ve tried to search the blog to find it and on google as well, to no avail. I was wondering if you could tell me what it is/where you got it. Thanks!!
P.S. I appreciate the post as well :o)

Sorry, Amanda, that wasn’t me (although I would love to have something like this!)

Hi Amanda,
I read your post and just checked Etsy.com I’m not sure if it’s totally what you’re looking for, but they do have one. You can just do a search under cloth bibl or search the name
childrenswoodland. (they’re the one selling it. I think it was $12.95) hope that helps. : )
blessings,
Jill
