For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, “BUT THE RIGHTEOUS man SHALL LIVE BY FAITH.”
Romans 1:17
We read about the Pharisees and we shake our heads at them, yet how often do we find ourselves believing something we DO makes us righteous?
“Maybe if I baked my own bread, sewed all our clothing, lived on a farm…then I would be closer to God,” we say in our ever-searching minds.
We have to stop thinking this way. The things we do are because of our faith. We cannot generate faith through the things we do, and we most definitely cannot generate righteousness through those things.
We have to work on the faith part a whole lot more than we work on the other things.
My fresh baked bread and my home-stitched clothing can never make me holy.
But my faith can.
Weekends in the Word is a ministry of Raising Arrows meant to offer a time of worship and encouragement specifically for those mommies who find themselves, due to circumstances beyond their control, unable to attend worship services with other believers. However, all are welcome here each weekend to feast on His Word.

This goes so beautifully with what we were just reading about and discussing in James yesterday during our family Bible study!
I might read this to our children today as an extra affirmation of what the kind of faith that produces works really looks like.
Have a blessed weekend!

Oh, so true…. I started baking my bread, making my yogurt…I’m still a sinner…but, when breaking that bread…and the days I forget to put in the salt…I get a swift reminder…right in my face and taste buds…I have to have the salt…the words…the prayer…the time with him. Love this reminder! Thank you!

I love this Post Amy! Often times others think that thought you shared. If we live on a farm, grow our food etc…we will be holy or righteous.or be able to see the Lord’s faithfulness….but it’s the everyday living, the way He provides for each need, gives each blessing and remains faithful to us… that is where the blessing lies! God bless you all as you are living the Life He has shown for you! Love and Prayers from all of us ..

Amen to that, Amy…faith alone, in God alone!
