Once again, I find myself in between homes.
If you remember last year when we moved, I wrote an entire series on Large Family Moving. Rather than rehash that, I thought I would take a more spiritual approach.
Jesus said to him, “The foxes have holes and the birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay His head.”
Matthew 8:20
I know I talk here a lot about your home life and homemaking skills and finding peace in your home, but there is such a thing as being too wrapped up in the temporal here and now of our home life that we forget this is not truly our Home.
So, this week as I am packing up one house and preparing to unpack another, I am reminding myself that what matters most is not found inside the walls of a home, but inside the heart and mind.

My heart goes out to you, Amy. We’ve moved enough to know that moving is hard work, physically and emotionally under the best of circumstances. I’m praying that your new home holds special memories for your family.
Amy says
Tonya, I smiled at your last sentence. What precious words. Thank you!
Jillian says
wish I could help you! If I were closer, I’d prepare meals for you! Praying for you guys.
Amy says
Thank you, Jillian. 🙂 We have an awesome network of friends who are coming in to work, fix meals, clean, etc. They start coming in tomorrow. We are truly blessed. 🙂
Kasey says
Amy, you are on my mind and in my heart and prayers! You’ve been asked to travel a rough road, but He’s got a wonderful plan for you that one day you will fully understand! I pray that your heart is comforted in the process!
Teresa says
Don’t forget to pray. I know that is something you wouldn’t do, but remember to ask God to bless your new home, to keep all in it safe, and to strengthen and grow all that will live it. It’s something I did when we moved in, and I felt such peace when I walked into it for the first time.
Jaime @ Like a Bubbling Brook says
Praying for a smooth transition, my friend. xoxo
