I will not
compare myself to other bloggers
try to stay “competitive” at the expense of my family
blog what I think you want to hear
blog what I wish were the truth, but isn’t
blog to defend myself
blog to gossip
compromise my integrity for money
try to be like someone else
let the blog rule my life
I will
write with passion
speak the Truth in love
give God all the glory for any successes I see here
promote others above myself
be authentic
be humble
I will blog for God.
{sometimes I just need to say it out loud}
Note to readers: I recently realized that behind the scenes my site has issues. Hackers and messed up files and a blogspot blog that still manages to show up after a year and a half on WordPress have created havoc behind the scenes here. And truth be told, it has made my heart sick.
Add all this to the fact that I have a lot going on both on Raising Arrows and in my every day life and you have a recipe for a crazy woman.
So, today I am taking a moment to remind myself why I do all of this and why, at the end of the day all the messed up stuff here doesn’t really matter…
I blog for God.

Amen!

Ouch. Needed to read that one today. It’s so easy to get caught up in comparing my blog to others and to have all the wrong motivations. Thanks for the reminder.

Thank you for the wonderful reminder of why we’re even writing on blogs! I think I needed to hear this today!
Cher says
Keep moving forward with where God has you… share His blessings, live for Him, take care of your arrows and husband! Truth comes forward in the end and God takes care of every detail, He knows your heart intent and has put that passion there <3 A sister living for Christ too, Cher
Amy says
Thanks, Cher! 🙂
Jennifer says
God bless you, Amy! I hope it all gets straightened out soon.
Joyce says
Thank you for blogging this and actually you are second blogger who recently spoke of what blogging means and the connection with the Lord. I know sometimes I need to do a heart check and ask myself why I am doing certain things. I also remind myself that God has given me the ability to write and I need to use it the way He wants me to and not for my own edification.
Peace, <
Our Peculiar Lives says
Hugs, Amy! Sorry you’re having to deal with all that stuff. Thank you for keeping your priorities where they should be and reminding us all to as well.

Thanks so much for the good reminder. It’s so easy to be controlled by the stats and reader response–or lack thereof. Hope everything gets straightened out!

All I can say is, “AMEN!!!”
You say the right words that speaks to me, and I give God the glory for using you as a vessel to speak to others who may need to hear what you have to say.
Thank you for allowing us to hear!!

Hi Amy,
Sounds like you’ve been really busy. Wish we could help. Why don’t you take some time off to get things back in order? We’ll all still be here when you get back. ; )
Blessings,
Jill

I have been taking some time off, you just can’t tell b/c things are scheduled out. 😉 Tomorrow is a guest post, so that will give me more time to just decompress! lol

Sorry you are having issues with former posts, etc. Hope they don’t give you too many headache/heartaches to resolve.
I am so glad you do blog for God, and keep reminding us that “That is what life is all about” What God wants us to do and be.
thanks dear.

Thanks for the empathy…it will all be fine…just a headache right now 🙁

You’re NOT preachin’ to the choir. Thank you, thank you, thank you! this is a great pledge to yourself, to God and to the blogosphere. You’re right: Sometimes we must say it aloud.
Angie @ Many Little Blessings says
Amen to that!
Oh, and sorry that I was almost falling asleep while getting the couple of things fixed that I could. I couldn’t believe how tired I was!
Amy says
No problem at all! I am just thrilled you were able to fix a few things for me…it HAS to help! 🙂

THIS. will be printed and ENLARGED and PLACED ON MY WALL (maybe framed) by my computer.
Wow, that is my heart.
(You have hackers??? oh no. I have problems behind the scenes, too, and have for, what, a couple of months now…never thought about the possibility of hackers. But, I have problems that no one’s ever heard of before. Who can say but that there is an enemy attacking.)
I remind myself that not only do I blog for God, but it is God’s blog. It is imperative, absolutely essential (for me, definitely; maybe for all Christian bloggers) to make these commitments, your “I wills” and keep priorities straight. (I know all about the crazy woman part.)
Amy, I will pray for you! and for your blog.
(Just stopped to pray.) And I am praying for all who write for the Lord, whose words God uses to make a difference in this world. May we abide in Him and His words abide in us, that we may bear much fruit. Greater is He that is in us, than He that is in the world.
Love and Blessings,
Wendy

Your “audience” of God is the reason why I keep referring people to your blog for insight, honesty, truth about raising a larger than average family, homeschooling, chasing after God’s heart, & when faced with the struggles you’ve been faced with.
Thank you for sharing your ministry & being so transparent!
Amy says
This comment has just blessed me amazingly tonight! Thank you, Mama Nellie! 🙂
