Blessed is the man
Who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly,
Nor stands in the path of sinners,
Nor sits in the seat of the scornful;
But his delight is in the law of the LORD,
And in His law he meditates day and night.
Weekends in the Word is a ministry of Raising Arrows meant to offer a time of worship and encouragement specifically for those mommies who find themselves, due to circumstances beyond their control, unable to attend worship services with other believers. However, all are welcome here each weekend to feast on His Word.

That is one of my favorite psalms, Amy!
Soooo important in all forms…on-line, places we go, things we listen to, show we watch, books we read…great reminder! Thanks!
Have a blessed weekend!

Great post.
I think even asking the advice (or seeking it from constantly reading books on parenting, homeschooling, marriage, etc.) can actually be a stumbling block, as well. Our lives were not made to constantly question and seek out opinions..as we know, everyone has them!
We are to go to God’s Word. Once we have our firm foundation there, we are to use our own wise discernment..God DID equip us without the use of a single and solitary other “guide”!
While there is nothing wrong with reading other materials (hello, we must teach out of more than the Bile in order to teach history, etc., to our children!) we must understand we are the best experts on our marriage, children, faith, homsechooling, etc., NOT some guy who wrote a book, no matter how many people love him!
God wrote THE BOOK and that’s what we need. I think most parents today are afraid and guilty, and much of this comes from wayward advice..even coming from Christians who have been marginalized by the world.
God Bless!
