I can’t wait to see your pics. I did buy myself a couple of skirts recently to help with my wardrobe. I have been doing much better about wearing the skirts but still have been wearing pants occasionally. I have enjoyed reading this topic.

Amy,
Ive really enjoyed this series! It has been a challenge to me as to what modesty truly means. If you have time to respond, I was wondering how you do the ‘skirt-wearing thing’ with out being legalistic about it. Is there a too short skirt (I mean, besides the obvious!) Do you EVER wear pants? Those kinds of things! Thank you for sharing your heart in the matter also. I know you don’t wear skirts to have a ‘holier-than-thou’ attitude, and I appreciate that! I look forward to the next post!

Well, let’s see…yesterday I wore a pair of capris. lol
Since my initial conversation with Caroline, I would say I wear skirts more often than not. The few times I’ve donned pants, I’ve almost felt weird. However, there are still pants in my closet and my favorite capris as well, but truth be told, I have skirts that I love even more and would rather wear. 🙂

Have been enjoying it! Good information!
Beth says
Great idea, Amy and Caroline! Now I have to ask myself if I am am brave enough to join the picture link-up! 🙂
Gail says
Thanks Amy!
I’ve always just wondered how you decide if a knee length skirt is ok, if capris are ok. Or really if it’s just a matter of preference and conviction. Again, I’ve really enjoyed this series and look forward to the rest! 🙂 Can’t wait to see the pictures!

Gail,
I personally only wear skirts that are mid calf or longer. My reasoning being, is that I have little ones that I have to chase after, get on the floor and play with, etc. Also, once you sit down on a couch, that mid calf length skirt gets even shorter. 🙂 Yes, I think it is a matter of what each woman is convicted of doing, Amy and I are not out to set a list of very specific rules to follow, we just share what we do. 🙂
Amy says
I also only wear skirts that are mid-calf length. One reason is that my husband does not like short skirts and as Caroline said, it is very difficult to stay modest with a lot of little children and a shorter skirt.
Gail says
Sounds great to me! I think I’m going to start incorporating skirts a little at a time so as not to overwhelm myself. Thank you again for all this wonderful information and insight! The “why” of skirt wearing is becoming more and more clear to me! 🙂
Heather says
OOOH fun! I can’t wait to see what everyone’s wearing!
Donna says
Oooh! I am excited to see your posts and try this myself. I don’t know if I have seven different skirts, so there may be some repeats. I’m also pregnant, so what would normally fall right above the ankle is more mid- to lower- calf.
Amy says
No need to have 7 different skirts and no need to only use pictures from this coming week. If you have other pictures on hand, use them too!

I just did a sewing class with my 2 daughters and one of their friends and they all made new skirts. The pattern is super easy & they were completely done in 1 1/2 hours. It could have been done 15-20 minutes sooner but we were playing with the friends twin baby sisters. The pattern is Simplicity 2368 View D. I can make one in about 30 minutes ~ stick on a machine hem and its done. They love them and so do I.
Donna says
I am Donna J too, I did a double-take when I saw your comment 🙂
Lisa says
I love your necklace in your sig pic! Is it with all your kids’ birthstones? I’ve been looking for something like that and wanted to ask you.
Amy says
Thanks! It’s a Premier piece from years ago, so I’m not even sure it is available anymore!
Eve says
I have also enjoyed the series a lot. I am excited to link up my post!
Laura says
I love this idea. I’ve been wearing mostly skirts for a few years and this series has been great to follow! I have enjoyed the different perspectives.
I think I’ll be linking up next week, too!
Also, is there a plan to revisit this in the fall/winter? I, personally, would love to see a fall/winter wardrobe link up. I know a lot of the commenters have said they struggle with winter wardrobes/shoes, as do I, and I think it would be great to see what others wear for inspiration.
Amy says
We didn’t have a plan to revisit this because we tried to cover all the seasons throughout the posts. 🙂

Cathy Burns(a Christian) says in her book on Occult Symbols(Sharing, Mt. Carmel,PA) that birthstones have an astrology origin. She goes more into the history of them(pages 297,298).
