Tips and tricks, resources and downloads to help you plan your homeschool year, making life less complicated and homeschooling more fun!
Homeschool planning has a tendency to cause very visceral reactions amongst homeschool moms. You either love it or despise it. New to homeschooling?
When you are new to homeschooling, you have a lot of questions. The posts below will help steer you toward a good perspective when it comes to starting out on this homeschooling journey.
Try to incorporate your child’s interests (and yours too!)
Planning is a lot more fun when you enjoy the subjects you are planning for! I have an entire series on Delight Directed Homeschooling – a style of homeschooling that works with with any method and any curriculum by simply integrating aptitudes and interests into the lessons. There are some really great FREE DOWNLOADS in those posts that will help you incorporate your child’s interests.
And notice I mentioned incorporating YOUR interests too? This will keep you engaged and enjoying the school day as well! For instance, I love history and literature, so we do a Morning Time all together that allows me to share history, geography, fine arts and a read aloud WITH my children! My passion for these topics in turn rubs off on the kids! In fact, I recently asked them what their favorite school subject is and they all answered with something from History!
Here are a couple of other posts that will help you incorporate interests:
