It’s November! We’ve had unseasonably warm weather here that finally took a definite turn toward Autumn this past week. I was finally in the mood to plan for Thanksgiving (thankfully, my Holiday Homeschool Planner already had me thinking in that direction!).

Speaking of jumping in…have you had a chance to rake up some leaves and jump in them? How about taking a hike through a wooded lane to admire God’s handiwork? Why not pour some cider and just go outside and breathe deep? Or stay inside and cuddle up?
No matter how you choose to celebrate Autumn, I’d encourage you to celebrate it with THANKFULNESS.
Here are a few resources from my blog to help you do just that!
Thanksgiving Activities
Blessing Tree Craft
Every year, we trace the children’s hands (or they trace their own now that they are older) and write all over the construction paper hands what they are thankful for that year. We often keep them from year to year to look back on the varying sizes and what they wrote.
Thanksgiving Pilgrim Walk
This fun and simple activity will keep your kids hopping and learning as they go from station to station reliving what the early Pilgrims went through to come to the United States, who they met along the way, and why they were so thankful that first Thanksgiving.
Family Thanksgiving Worship Guide

Thanksgiving Recipes
Granny’s Thanksgiving Dressing
My husband’s favorite Thanksgiving recipe! Get the kids involved tearing up the bread and adding the seasonings. Tastes like an old fashioned Thanksgiving!
Sweet Potato Casserole
Several of our children say this is their favorite Thanksgiving dish! I will often make it half covered with pecans and half not. The crispy glaze on top makes it way better than marshmallows!
Cranberry Celebration Salad
My mom made this cranberry, pineapple, and walnut salad every year for Thanksgiving, so I do too!
Pumpkin Crumble Cake
Years ago, I found this recipe on a carton of eggs and decided to make it. Turns out, it is REALLY YUMMY!
Creamy Cornbread Corn Casserole
This is my favorite Thanksgiving dish! Another one from my childhood that my mom would make every year. My favorite part is the smell of the onions and peppers cooking!
Caramel Apple French Toast Casserole
This makes for a great Thanksgiving morning breakfast! So tasty!
Grandpa’s Cheese Ball
With only 4 ingredients, this cheese ball is a breeze to whip up for Thanksgiving appetizers!
Caramel Apple Dip
How about something different on the Thanksgiving dessert table? This Apple Dip is delicious and a crowd pleaser!
Holiday Sugar-Glazed Nuts
These taste as good as they smell! Great little treats prior to Thanksgiving Dinner!

Festive Hot Punch
This delicious punch is synonymous with Christmas for me, but I’ll let you have it on Thanksgiving. You’re welcome.
